How to do a Risk Assessment
A Risk Assessment is you looking at your stall, your products, your set up and everything around you that could cause risk and how you are addressing that risk.

For instance a risk would be an over long table covering dragging on the floor. The risk is to customers, fellow stallholders and volunteers and is a trip hazard. To prevent that becoming a problem the solution would be to have the table covering secured in place with safety pins or something of the like. Having a heavy ceramic vase at the top of a set of shelves set on your table is another accident waiting to happen, the solution is to have heavy items at lower levels on the shelves or table top.

It can be daunting to do a Risk Assessment but once you've done one you will see the potential risks and design your display to minimise these risks. All Risk Assessments are required to be emailed to makerscornwallinfo@gmail.com by 9th October 2024.
